The role of Procurement Unit in the operations of the Council

Procurement Unit is a key component to the effective operations of the Council as an entity and ensures efficient and timely delivery of services to the public. The Unit endeavors to take a lead in working with other user departments and stakeholders within the district regarding procurement matters in line with Government Policies, Statutes and by upholding the democratic, professional and ethical standards attaching to the public service and by carrying out the following roles:

  1. Management of procurement performance
  2. Supervision of the procurement of goods and services
  3. Report production
  4. Systems management
  5. Distribution and delivery of materials
  6. Planning and budgeting
  7. Storage and stock control
  8. Distribution and delivery of materials
  9. Disposal of obsolete and damaged materials
